Blog Post #7: IXL in the Classroom

Why IXL: IXL is and online educational program that is beneficial for student learning. I chose IXL because it's a site my own teachers had me and my peers complete. This was a site I was introduced to in elementary school. I mainly used the site for it's math lessons and content.

What is IXL: This is an online program that provides students with a wide range of interactive content for multiple subjects. This site is best suited for K-12 learning and contains features with challenge, track, and pace student learning. It also provides students with feedback and fun rewards. It aligns with student learning with classroom content and standards.

Use & Complexity level: IXL is very easy to use! I had no trouble using this site and enjoyed working my way through the lessons, it was very easy to navigate through the topics. Lessons are already published and the site customizes the level of difficulty based on student performance. Teachers are able to allow student to work independently through course material with no issue.

Versatility: The program is very versatile! It caters to students and educators, allowing them to present and test knowledge in a light, fun, and interactive way. It contains countless lessons and problems for students to work through on different subjects. It's a great tool that encourages repetition, practice, and retention. \

Classroom use of IXL: The site is used to assess student understanding and gauge classroom comprehension. It also contains features that allow students to play fun games and test their knowledge in a range of topics!

Connection(s): IXL connects to both Instruction and Assessment tiers of the TLC framework. Providing students with detailed content to read through and videos to follow when learning material. As well as testing student understanding with challenging questions, and tests.
